It’s been 10 years since Bayard launched three magazines - Story Box (three to six years), Adventure Box (six to nine) and Discovery Box (nine to 12). All three still provide a cheerful incentive to develop literacy. Apart from the fun of receiving their own magazine by post, children can enjoy stories, poems, games, features, cartoons and puzzles.
Tony Ross’s illustrations to a modernised folk tale, articles on snowflakes, Roman soldiers and tsunamis, and the adventures of a tiny superhero, are among the colourful attractions. Schools receive a year’s free subscription if they distribute subscription forms to children (who pay pound;31.80 instead of the usual pound;35).
