They say charity begins at home, but for children in an increasing number of schools it starts at www.countmeincalendar.info. This replaces two printed calendars (“Count Me In” and “Citizenship”) that previously disseminated information about charity campaigns to more than 7,000 secondary schools. Run in association with the volunteering website Do-It.org, the National Centre for Volunteering and The Community Channel, and sponsored by Whitbread, it is now a free comprehensive daily listing of charity awareness campaigns (more than 200), United Nations events and religious festivals.
