Making the news

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/making-news
Breaking the News is a free resource for 14 to 19-year-olds about all aspects of television news. Online learning materials are designed to teach students to analyse TV news critically, as well as become familiar with the digital technologies and online tools used to select, edit and produce news stories. Students can also enter a competition on the site. Each week in June, ITN footage will be released on the website for them to edit and script into their own story. The best stories will be re-edited with a professional voice-over and the winners selected by a panel of Channel 4 judges. Two budding broadcast journalists will then get to spend a day at Channel 4, working alongside the news team, and the winning stories will be aired on the Channel 4 site.
