At Clacton county high school, Michael Pinsky, an artist who specialises in the relationship between architectural spaces and perceptions of time, has been constructing an installation called Weather Cluster. Incorporating video clips of world weather conditions collected by students and staff on holidays, field trips and exchange visits, this constantly growing weather library is set in a large space that unites old and new areas of the school.
At Colbayns high school, Clacton, a large secondary in an education action zone, artist Andrew Smith, who has made a sculpture for a special needs school in Milton Keynes and an interactive artwork for Bristol’s Royal Hospital for Children, has been involving students in designing a set of gates that will provide a focal point for a new, central open space.
