Pupils in Manchester with a passion for art and the environment have launched a campaign to tackle litter at the city’s train stations.
The children from Temple Primary School in Cheetham Hill surveyed commuters on waste and took part in a poster competition to encourage recycling.
The winning design, by nine-year-old Hafsa Mohammed, will now be displayed at stations across the Northern Rail’s network.
Laura Burton, eco co-ordinator at Temple Primary, said: “The children have been passionate about the project and it’s great to see the things they’ve worked so hard for being extended to other areas of the community.” DM.
