Map-maker wins the day

A map of an imaginary future battle has won Jake Hewitt of the Hall school, north London, the title of junior Young Geographer of the Year.

"The Battle of Camden Town, September 10, 2201" impressed judges with its "Chestertonian overtones" and cartographic skills.

Tina Thorburn, Wellington school, Somerset, won the senior award, and Rachel Tuckett, King Edward VI Five Ways school, Birmingham, the 13-15 category at a ceremony on Tuesday.
