* Margaret Thatcher, who was denied an honorary degree by her alma mater, Oxford University, last week gave Pounds 2 million to Cambridge University to establish a chair of enterprise studies.

The money will come from the Margaret Thatcher Foundation, set up after Lady Thatcher was ousted as Conservative leader and prime minister in 1991. It will be used to endow a chair at the Judge Institute of Management Studies, Cambridge’s business school.
