Pupils at troubled Douglas Ewart High in Newton Stewart want a say in the future development of the school, which has just had a caning from HMIE.
That’s the story in the Galloway Gazette, which reports that pupil Mary Munro did her own inspection report and came to the conclusion that it was not as bad as the official report makes out.
But as another pupil told the paper: “The report seems to exclude us because it was addressed to our parents. We haven’t spoken about it and it is too complicated for us to understand.”
Too complicated? Surely not from the proud recipients of the Plain English Campaign award. Or are problems at the Ewart worse than even HMIE claims?
