A mystery illness that led to more than 50 children and adults being taken to hospital could have been an attack of mass hysteria, health officials have said.
All 820 staff and pupils were evacuated from Collenswood school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, last Thursday after pupils began to develop headaches and symptoms of sickness. But a hospital spokesman said all 42 children and 13 adults left the hospital with little or no medical treatment.
