THE Headteachers’ Association of Scotland is to urge the McCrone inquiry into teachers’ pay and conditions to establish an extended contract which would include enhanced pay for obligations such as study support and extra curricular activity. A two-tier contract could recognise teachers who wated to take activities and those who did not.
The Scottish Schoolsport Federation will also advise the McCrone inquiry to establish a broad rationale for the extended curriculum. It wants teachers who supervise sports teams to be given time off in recognition of their efforts.
