Talking of Catholic schools brings one inevitably to closures. Ken Corsar, Glasgow's director of education, facing the unhappy parents of the city's Holyrood Secondary for the umpteenth time, gave at least one straight answer. Asked if he was as sick of the whole business as they were, he declared: "Yes."
