A SCHOOL was forced to close this week after a dinner lady died from meningitis and a boy fell ill with the disease.

Anxious parents of all 130 pupils at Ynysboeth infants school, near Abercynon, South Wales, kept their children at home after the disase killed Carol Morgan, a 57-year-old grandmother. Gareg Hughes, four, was also taken to hospital but is expected to make a full recovery. Every pupil and member of staff has been offered antibiotics to protect them from any further outbreak.
