Morals demand a full inquiry;Letter

“Moral development is promotedIthrough the consistent message pupils hear about right and wrong in all aspects of school life.” (para 61, annual report of Her Majesty’s chief inspector of schools, 1997-8) Surely the very least that ought to happen now, the very least that all concerned about children’s moral development deserve, is an inquiry into the recent claims and counterclaims about Mr Woodhead’s veracity. And it should be an inquiry which is conducted with all the rigour and the transparency with which he professes to inquire into the behaviour of others. Action please Mr Blunkett.
