The sudden increase in demand for statutory assessment before statements are abolished is sadly no surprise (“Reform panic could trigger SEN system meltdown”, 9 November). The government’s proposed legislation is more reactionary than radical and will result in the interests of lawyers being served more than those of learners and their beleaguered families.
