More strikes over pay are expected next week at a Caerphilly comprehensive, which closed to pupils yesterday in a dispute over new teaching and learning responsibility allowances. The NASUWT Cymru union said it had reinstated strike action after talks broke down and the governing body at Pontllanfraith school, Blackwood, refused to make any changes. An LEA spokesman said the school was keen to resolve the dispute, and that it had contacted ACAS, the conciliation service.
