Having read your article on school trips (TES, November 5) I offer you a photo that paints a thousand words. It’s Jon Heywood, our deputy head, and our Year 6 pupils negotiating the “shoe graveyard” on our recent residential visit to West Wales. It sums up the joys of giving children and staff the opportunity to partake in outdoor activities. No “dubious educational value” here!
