The editor says we are particularly pleased to note that a conference held last week on "heritage interpretation", run by Perth College and the UHI Millennium Institute, was called The Vital Spark.

That, of course, was the fictitious name of the decrepit old Clyde puffer which sailed the west coast under the not-so-steady hand of skipper Para Handy, the creation of author Neil Munro (the editor refused to comment).
