Pupils from Midlothian’s Lasswade High have reached the Scottish final of the Live and Unsigned UK music competition.

S5 pupils Christopher Amer, Jonnie Grant and Colin Pow auditioned with their rock group Hardback. They performed in front of five music industry judges, including Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale.

Live and Unsigned is a national competition for unsigned bands, vocal groups and solo artists. The winner will be offered festival slots, a UK tour and a recording contract with Future Music.

The Scottish final will be held at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on March 19.
