The 12 winners included Andrew McIntyre, the Down's syndrome pupil who featured in last week's TES Scotland, which is media sponsor of the event.
A former pupil at St Brendan's High in Renfrewshire, Andrew has been able by "outstanding personal commitment and access to mainstream education" to go on to James Watt College in Greenock to fulfil his ambition of becoming a gymnastics coach for pre-school children and pupils with special needs.
The SQA college candidate of the year is Robert Blythe of John Wheatley College, who wants to move on from a catering course to owning his own restaurant.
The international student of the year was Faina Shapiro, a former pupil of Harris Academy in Dundee.
Oakbank School in Aberdeen was the SQA centre of the year and Reid Kerr College in Paisley was college of the year for its centre for alternative technology.
