My first school book

All five-year-olds are to be given a free book when they start school, as part of a scheme launched this week by Ed Balls, Children, Schools and Families Secretary. The Booktime campaign has already given out more than half a million copies of this year's book - Funnybones by Alan and Janet Ahlberg - to reception-class children. The scheme is run by the Booktrust charity and Pearson publishers.
