A tiny primary school in the village of Llanfyllin in Powys, mid Wales, is going to find out. Ysgol Llanfihangel yng Ngwynfa had to cancel its nativity play on December 19 when five of its 12 pupils fell ill with a virus.
Headteacher Eiran Jones decided to hold a performance in the village hall last week so the children and their families would not miss out.
"It feels very strange having a festive play in January, but there are no decorations and no mince pies," she said. "The parents are having coffee and biscuits instead."
We hope the unusual performance will not prove unlucky for the school. It has been recommended for closure by the county council, so it needs all the luck it can get.
