Glancing at the appointment pages in recent TES issues (and giggling hysterically at some of the job descriptions) I have been struck by the number of adverts for numeracy consultants. Why are there so many education “authorities” with a lack of experts in numeracy? Will the appointments result in even fewer expert maths teachers in primary schools?
