The Education Minister has announced a national anti-bullying network to be run by Moray House Institute of Education, Edinburgh.

Helen Liddell said on Tuesday during a visit to Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh, which has set up an anti-bullying centre, that school is “a time of torment” for some children. They must be rescued from isolation and disillusionment, Mrs Liddell said.

The new network will act as a consultancy for schools, spreading good practice and running workshops. It will also have its own website and telephone information line, and is planned to be in operation by Easter.
