Never tolerate bullying;Letter

I WAS pleased to see that The TES, has drawn attention to the problem of teacher bullying (Friday Magazine, February 5). Such conduct is far too prevalent, and bearing in mind the insidious tactics employed by bullies, the publicity now being given to the topic has to be welcomed.

There is a moral imperative on everyone working in schools to address this issue. Failure to do so smacks of hypocrisy, especially when reasonable adults are now keen to be associated with public condemnations of bullying by children in the playground and the classroom.

Senior managers in schools, who practise or condone bullying need to realise the profound consequences for their victims. Bullying should never be tolerated.
