(Photograph) - The Lauder Javne Jewish Community School in Budapest is the first privately funded school to be built in Hungary since World War II. The Pounds 3million school was financed by a foundation set up by Ronald Lauder, the billionaire son of cosmetics giant Estee Lauder, who is following the example of another American of Hungarian-Jewish extraction, George Soros, by investing heavily in eastern Europe. The Budapest school caters for 600 pupils who learn a standard syllabus plus courses on Jewish history, religion and culture
