The ministry of Defence has launched a website for schools that has been criticised for encouraging “back door” military recruitment.
Defence Dynamics features lesson plans on a range of military-related topics, such as the protection of fish stocks, the maths involved in navigating a jet and the pros and cons of war, for use in science, maths, geography, PE and citizenship lessons.
The site replaces the MoD’s programme of in-school presentations, which were criticised for targeting pupils living in deprived areas.
The Government has said the aim of the site is to “broaden awareness and understanding of the role of defence in society”.
