Join the Tes news team as we discuss the news as it breaks: namely an angry letter from 24 MAT chief executives, in which they demand answers from the exams regulator over the handling of this summer’s exams, and say they are refusing to pay fees to exam boards unless invoices are itemised. 

We also discuss how an exam board is accusing headteachers of “misunderstanding” its workload and costs in their calls for an exam fees rebate of at least 50 per cent this year.

And we ask whether pupils are being scammed into paying money for exam papers on social media?

Our podcast ends with a discussion on face masks in schools, and how headteachers are accusing the government of “throwing teachers under a bus” owing to the decision that they are no longer required from this Monday.
