PUPILS from hundreds of schools around the world were holding the front page this week as they took part in The TES’s Newsday.
Now in its 10th year, it involved children putting together a newspaper and or Internet news site using learning packs supplied by The TES.
Pupils gleaned stories from around their schools as well as other news sources, and had to produce the finished work by the end of Wedneday.
The challenge included writing, page design, dealing with letters to the editor, coming up with picture ideas and, the hardest part, making tough decisions about what should be left out for lack of space!
Around 600 schools took part, including pupils in Chile, Australia, Mexico and Singapore.
The event was sponsored by Apple and organised by the Redcar and Cleveland ICT Centre.
