(Photograph) - Nicol Stephen, Deputy Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Minister, made his announcement of the new FE cash at one of the beneficiaries in Haddington, East Lothian. The first centre for lifelong learning in the area is a joint venture between Jewel and Esk Valley College and East Lothian Council. It opened its doors last November and has enrolled 1,394 students in its first year, well past its 1,000 student target. Courses range from gardening to Spanish and from first aid to computing.
