Teachers in Eastern China have been issued with a list of rules on personal decorum, including:
- no skintight or sleeveless attire and no cleavage;
- clothes should not be transparent or too revealing;
- wrinkled and filthy clothes should be avoided;
- no peculiar colours to dye hair or paint fingernails should be used.
The document, released earlier this month by Nanjing education bureau, also offers advice on how to sit, stand and walk. “You should stand erect, without leaning against the wall or walking up and down the aisles.”
