No defence for lunatic schools

You report that children taught by the Exclusive Brethren are "forbidden to read fiction" (TES, May 27) - apart from that collection of myths and legends known as the Bible?

As a libertarian, I suppose I should defend these people's right to their opinions. As an atheist and a believer in children's rights, however, I regard the Exclusive Brethren as dangerous lunatics and would never allow religious extremists to adopt or foster children.
