No dunces here

The gates at Paisley Grammar were recently topped by two orange traffic cones, and the Paisley Daily Express was happy to tell readers that they weren't dunces' caps, merely the work of some naughty pupil or former pupil.

The paper compared the jape to the regular appearance of a traffic cone atop the statue of Wellington in Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square, as a now-accepted part of the city's "cultural life".

Culture in the city of Paisley? That's taking it too far.
