Large-scale education initiatives are set to become a thing of the past in Wales, according to the education minister. Leighton Andrews said he wants to stick to his mantra of “few initiatives and keep it simple”. Speaking at a recent conference, he said: “I think the time has passed for large-scale initiatives. I don’t need any thick, glossy documents landing on my desk and neither does anybody else in education.”
