An Ipsos Mori poll jointly commissioned by teachers' union the NASUWT and the public sector union Unison has found most of the general public oppose the involvement of profit-making firms in running schools. Only 24 per cent of those questioned thought it was a good idea, with 44 per cent objecting. The survey also found that a majority believe state education is doing a good job.
