EXAM results in Northern Ireland are improving. Official figures show 37 per cent of school-leavers gained two or more A-levels or equivalent in 200001 - a 4.9 percentage point rise on 199697. Progress has also been made at GCSE, where the 58 per cent scoring five grades A*-C in 200001 was a marked improvement on 54.3 per cent in 199697.
