An innovative exhibition called Northern Lights starts at Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery tomorrow (December 7-February 1).

Centred on light installations by eight leading British and American artists, including James Turrell, the show is accompanied by an education programme at the Triangle Arts Centre in West Pilton during January and February, where artist in residence Emily Tracy will run a series of workshops on the theme of light, involving young people of all abilities. Exhibiting artists discuss their work at the Fruitmarket Gallery, 45 Market Street, Edinburgh EH1 1DF, tomorrow 2pm (free). Further details on 0131 225 2383.
