The Education Minister has ruled out extending pre-school provision to under-threes or making free part-time provision full-time. Peter Peacock gave the standard response in a parliamentary answer that “we keep our policy on further developing pre-school provision under review”.
Inclusion of under-threes in state-funded pre-school education was one of the flagship measures unveiled for England by the Chancellor in his July spending review. But the First Minister has said other options would be considered.
