Your article about Canonbury Primary (“Rape charges at porn-sacking school”, May 29) failed to make properly clear - like several national papers - that the accused teacher, Mr Stringer, did not commit these offences at the school, but while in previous jobs. He was dismissed immediately after Canonbury became aware of the allegations, and no similar charges against him relate to any child at the school.
Canonbury is providing an excellent education for its children, despite the difficulties it has been through recently, culminating in the (unrelated) dismissal of its headteacher. Is it the fact that Lord Adonis’s and Boris Johnson’s children attend the school that has led to journalists pursuing this story so assiduously?
