Glasgow’s new Gaelic 3-18 school, aka the old Woodside Secondary, temporary home for St Tam’s on decant and much more, now boasts a bilingual nameboard outside its front door.
It’s fine that the school’s name is rendered in Gaelic, but hasn’t Glasgow gone too far by also rendering the Technician Resource Service and the Education Resource Service, which also live in the building, in Gaelic, too?
It’s the initials for the Education Resource Service - ERS, which have attracted our attention. For if it was Irish and not Scots Gaelic on offer, it would nearly spell ERSE.
