The under-construction Lowestoft Sixth Form College in Suffolk has “topped out”. Due to open in September, the #163;18.5 million building will house 950 pupils.

The Potato Council has chipped in to host a planting day for local pupils at Trinity Park, Ipswich, on 15 March.

Short stories by 24 schoolchildren from across the UK have been published for World Book Day.

Ridgeway Infant School in Derby has won a #163;6,500 “mobile classroom”, including 10 netbooks and an interactive whiteboard, in a competition run by IT provider XMA.

A pupil from North Lindsey College in North Lincolnshire is starstruck during a visit from Leeds City College’s mobile planetarium.
