The Communication Aids Project initiative from Becta helps pupils who have difficulty understanding language and writing. The project will run until March 2006. Free seminars for education officers, heads, governors and other special needs professionals will be held in Birmingham, February 14, Kings Cross London, March 7 and Bristol, March 21.

The Technology Wales 2005 conference at Cardiff International Arena, May 13, is aimed at IT directors, chief education officers, senior managers, IT professionals and academics. Seminars will include: changing technology horizons; learning lessons from other technologies (nanomagnetics, F1 technology, robotics, Bluetooth and artificial intelligence, for example).
