Notre Dame High School for Girls to be retained

* Glasgow City Council's ruling Labour group, facing elections within a year, has dropped its contentious co-educational plans for Scotland's last council-run single sex secondary school.

The group's decision to retain Notre Dame High School for Girls, which is strongly supported in the Muslim as well as the Catholic community, reverses the stance of the Labour executive.
