The school library has emerged as the key to getting young adult fiction read and re-read. At this week's first conference devoted to the 13-plus age group, authors and publishers at Nottingham Trent University agreed that school libraries need more money and support; just in case this takes a while to arrive the librarians are building their own support networks.
Ideas and resources for getting books into the hands and heads of young readers can be found at www.strongest-links.org.uk, created in spare hours by the other Anne Robinson, whose day job is head of learning resources at Nicholas Chamberlaine technology college in Bedworth, Warwickshire.
