Every school in Wales should have its own nurse within five years, according to the Royal College of Nursing. At this week’s launch of an all-party Assembly group on nursing and midwifery, the RCN said school nurses were well placed to tackle obesity, sexually-transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancy, drugs, smoking and alcohol.
