PARENTS and staff were dismayed and angered by the omission of Collingham Gardens nursery from the article on the Coram community campus (“In the heart of the city”, TES, July 23).

Collingham Gardens Nursery was a partner with the Thomas Coram Foundation in the setting up of the parents centre, and the article completely failed to recognise our place alongside the Thomas Coram early childhood centre as an alternative daycare provision on the campus.

A tremendous amount of commitment and hard work by staff and parents has not been acknowledged. We were interviewed by the TES journalist, but to rub salt into the wound, not only was our material not used, but a photo of children in our setting was used, but as if to represent the other nursery.

The campus is about working together to provide a multi-agency approach to support parents in all aspects of parenting. It is also about choice - two nurseries offering different environments - ours small, set in a unique ecological setting, child-centred and with a recent outstanding Office for Standards in Education report.

Georgette Davies (organiser) Collingham Gardens nursery Henrietta Mews London WC1 Editor: our apologies to the staff, parents and pupils of Collingham Gardens nursery for failing to recognise their part in the Coram community campus.
