The London borough of Hackney is the first of several education authorities to provide teachers with a course in nurture group work. Run by the Nurture Group Project in collaboration with the Cambridge University based Associaton of Workers for Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, the course was completed by 20 teachers and learning support assistants. Hackney was the original testing ground for nurture groups 30 years ago.

* Further information about courses and other training is available from Dr Paul Cooper, School of Education, University of Cambridge, Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge CB2 2BY. Tel: 01223 369631.
