Ofsted appoints new director

Miriam Rosen has been appointed director of education at the Office for Standards in Education. Mrs Rosen, 53, will replace David Taylor who retires this month. The former science teacher has worked for Ofsted since 1993, most recently as divisional manager for Ofsted's subjects quality assurance division.
