The recent open meeting of the Scottish Further Education Funding Council, which is held each year, might almost have become a rammy as dissident lecturers aired their grievances not only with college managements but with the council itself.

This is not evident from the latest council bulletin which notes, with admirable succinctness, that “the second half of the meeting was dedicated to a question and answer session which saw . . . a variety of questions from the floor on subjects such as funding for student representation in FE and the vision for FE in Scotland in the next 10 years”.

That’s one way of putting it. Readers panting for more can visit the sfefc.ac.uk website where the evening’s proceedings will shortly become available. We can’t wait.
