Nigel Paine, chief executive of the Scottish Council for Educational Technology, has found yet another benefit in ICT - opening up schools forced to close their doors as a post-Dunblane security measure.

“The new technologies should allow schools to break out of the fortress-like security which now surrounds them, for perfectly understandable reasons, and help them manage their connections with the rest of the world,” Professor Paine said.
