Much entertainment value is to be had from Fin-ley, his disaster-prone Grandpa and the rest of the gangly, befuddled bear clan in Rob Lewis’s small-format picture story books (Red Fox pound;4.99 each). Grandpa on Holiday relives seaside nightmares of wasps, ants and drifting airbeds, with the Grandpa factor increasing the holiday angst. The other new title, Too Much Trouble for Grandpa, introduces (briefly) Elvis the cat, Conan the bird and Mavis the unenvied girlfriend. These are engaging family-drama stories for beginner readers with clever shifts of perspective in the illustrations.
